讓你“周五之前”交作業(yè)是 before Friday 還是 by Friday？

我們先看兩個例句：
①Please send it by Friday.
最晚周五發(fā)給我
（Friday is the deadline）
(周五是截止日期)
②Please send it before Friday.
周五之前發(fā)給我
（Friday is too late. I need it in advance of Friday）
(周五就太晚了，最遲周四晚上)
這里我們把by和before放在一起來比較一下它們兩個詞的區(qū)別來理解它們正確的用法
（1）If you want the job to be ready on Friday morning, you would say
如果你要求在周五早上的時候工作是完成了的，你應(yīng)該說：Please do this before Friday
（2）If you need it to be done either before or during Friday, you would say
如果你要求工作在周五或之前完成，你應(yīng)該說：Please do this by Friday
In other words, using by is inclusive, it means do this on any day up to and including the day specified. Using before is non inclusive, it means that I expect it to be done when I arrive on Friday morning.
換句話說，用by是包括的，它的意思是干什么在某天之前或者包含那天。用before是不包含的，意思是我希望我周五早上一來你的工作是做完了的。
“Before+日期”不包括給定日期。這意味著該行為應(yīng)該在給定日期之前完成。另一方面，“By+日期”指某一特定行為應(yīng)該在給定日期之前或當天完成，而不是之后。
