kick the bucket可不是“踢水桶”的意思，真實含義是“死掉，一命嗚呼”。相傳，在中古時期，對犯人執(zhí)行絞刑時，死犯就站在桶上面，脖子被套上套索。行刑的人把水桶踢掉，死犯就會去世了。所以這句習語就引申為這個意思啦。
