nick有 刻痕、刮痕的意思，以前，人們會(huì)在木板上刻下賬目或比賽得分，尤其是在比賽時(shí)，最后一個(gè)刻痕就代表最后關(guān)頭的制勝分，因此，用in the nick of time表示“在關(guān)鍵時(shí)刻，在事情正好發(fā)生的時(shí)候”。
