1. I was like,“what?!”

口語(yǔ)中用來(lái)表達(dá)某人的一種反應(yīng),比如說(shuō)的話或思想活動(dòng)。

He was like, "hold on, wait for me!"

他說(shuō),等下,等等我。

2. That takes guts!

做某事需要勇氣。guts本意是內(nèi)臟,引申為膽量。

Being a police officer takes guts, for sure.

顯然,當(dāng)警察很需要勇氣。

3. All right, so much for that one...

人們放棄做一件事或者努力泡湯的時(shí)候經(jīng)常說(shuō)的一句話。

There’s a fine line between: 這個(gè)表達(dá)用于指兩件事很相似,以至于容易混淆,指微妙的差別。

Go easy on (someone):手下留情,別太狠。

Ease into it:意思是“慢慢來(lái)”,一般用于勸別人放松心情。

Don't try so hard, ease into it.

Head off to (somewhere):指出發(fā)去某個(gè)地方。

We are heading off to school.
