For years, psychologists have divided people into two basic personality types: introverts and extroverts.
You are most likely an introvert if you don’t like crowds and enjoy keeping your thoughts to yourself. An extrovert, on the other hand, likes meeting new people and being the center of attention.
But experts suggest there's middle ground on the personality spectrum, and people refer to as "ambiverts" fall somewhere in between.
"This is an exciting result, " says Tinetti. "This is the first near-infrared spectrum of a planet.
2. Interestingly, one piece of open source software spans the entire spectrum.

She has such a kind, friendly personality.
2. The rides are unsuitable for people of a nervous disposition.
3. She resembles her sister in appearance but not in character.
4. Jill has such a lovely relaxed temperament.
5. The study found that some alcoholics had clear personality traits showing up early in childhood.

Ambiverts, as the name suggests, have both introverted and extroverted characteristics. But neither trait is dominant. As a result, ambiverts have more balanced personalities.
1. This is the tyranny of the dominant signature, caused by the limitation of expressing the element with only one name.
2. Numerous persons with only a few Negroid traits annually pass over and are ab-sorbedinto the dominant Caucasoid population.

Ambiverts move between being social and being alone with greater ease than either extroverts or introverts.
Researcher said that:“They have a wider range of skills and can connect with a wider range of people in the same way someone who speaks English and Spanish can.”
Ambiversion has gotten more attention in recent years, thanks to books, TEDx talks and consulting firms focusing on how personality traits impact people’s behaviors in relationships and careers.

A:What do you crave after a long day at work when you need to refuel---a happy hour with friends, or your couch and the remote control?
crave: v.
1. The tired old man craved for rest.
2. The thirsty man craved water.

B:At a social event, at what point do you want to leave---as soon as you get there or after the last person has left?
C:In a conversation, do you prefer to think through your answers before speaking, or throw out whatever idea comes to mind and bat it back and forth?
back and forth:反復(fù)地,來(lái)回地
1. Negotiating is the process of communicating back and forth for the purpose of reaching an agreement.
2. Louisa Menke, a skater from the Netherlands, was trailed by several Afghan girls on skateboards as she rolled back and forth across the fountain.
If you're an ambivert, your preference will often be somewhere in the middle---you choose to have a drink with a friend after work but then afterward go home and take a long walk with the dog.
