第二、帶有carry，c-a-r-r-y，carry這個(gè)單詞的表述“迷戀”的習(xí)慣用語(yǔ)。它是be carried away(get carried away)。It means to be very excited and lose control of your feelings. 中文意思是變得很激動(dòng)而失去自控。更具有文學(xué)性的翻譯可以是忘乎所以，神魂顛倒，沖昏頭腦，陶醉。我們來(lái)看2個(gè)例句。
例句1：On no account should we fight on day after day without cease, or be carried away by success. 決不可以無(wú)止境地每日每時(shí)地斗下去，決不可被勝利沖昏自己的頭腦。
注解1：On no account是“絕對(duì)”的意思。例如： On no account can we ignore the value of knowledge. 我們絕對(duì)不能忽視知識(shí)的價(jià)值。Hence, on no account can we equate happiness with wealth. 因此，我們決不能把快樂(lè)等同于財(cái)富。
注解2：Day after day是“日復(fù)一日”的意思。那么“年復(fù)一年”，我們可以說(shuō)為year after year。“歲月蹉跎”，我們可以說(shuō)為stealing day after day。例如：Day after day, year after year, no one can tell me who I've been waiting for. Maybe somebody, maybe nobody. 年復(fù)一年,日復(fù)一日,沒(méi)有人能告訴我，我在為誰(shuí)而等待。也許是在等有緣人,也許什么人也等不到。Day after day she waited in vain for him to telephone her. 日復(fù)一日，她徒勞地等待他的電話。(備注：in vain 徒勞地;無(wú)效地)注解3：Without cease是“不停地”“不斷地”“持續(xù)地”的意思。努力不倦或者是努力不懈，我們可以說(shuō)為strive without cease。卜晝卜夜，我們可以說(shuō)為day and night without cease。例如：The purpose in life is to learn and to give without cease, to grow as a person, and to benefit others. 生命的意義何在?不斷地學(xué)習(xí)、奉獻(xiàn)，使自己成長(zhǎng)，并成就他人。We shall work on without cease in order to finish the job on time. 我們應(yīng)該不停地干，才能按時(shí)完成工作。
注解4：這個(gè)句子是一個(gè)倒裝句。在以下否定意義的短語(yǔ)位于句首時(shí)，句子應(yīng)該用倒裝語(yǔ)序: under no circumstance, on no account,in no way, at no point, at no time, in no sense，這些短語(yǔ)都表示“絕不”。
我們?cè)賮?lái)看2個(gè)例句：At no point will my reference books be removed from the library. 絕不可能將參考書(shū)帶出圖書(shū)館。At no time shall a student cheat on his exam. 學(xué)生任何時(shí)候都不允許考試作弊。
從以上例句中可以看到當(dāng)這些表示“絕不”否定意義的短語(yǔ)位于句首時(shí)倒裝句的結(jié)構(gòu)是：介詞短語(yǔ)+助動(dòng)詞(或情態(tài)動(dòng)詞)+主語(yǔ)+謂語(yǔ)。
例句2：I closed my eyes, letting myself get carried away by my daughter's song. 我閉上眼睛，任由女兒的美妙的歌聲牽引我的思緒。
注解：句子中的letting myself get carried away by my daughter's song是現(xiàn)在分詞短語(yǔ)在句子中作伴隨狀況狀語(yǔ)。我閉上了眼睛，那么閉上眼睛的同時(shí)，我的腦海里縈繞著女兒的歌聲。這2個(gè)動(dòng)作同時(shí)在發(fā)生。
