Bell是鈴鐺的意思，bell the cat就是給貓戴上鈴鐺，這樣在貓走過來的時候就會發(fā)出響聲，老鼠會有所警覺。而這又被視為冒險的行動，也就是挺身而出；敢于冒險的意思。
