從字面上看，“tongue”表示“舌頭”，“tip”是“尖、尖端”。有時(shí)候，別人問(wèn)你什么問(wèn)題，你話到嘴邊，可就是說(shuō)不出來(lái)——思維短路了，這時(shí)候你就可以說(shuō)“It's on the tip of my tongue.”

我好像記得，但是又說(shuō)不出來(lái)。

John had the answer on the tip of his tongue, but Anne said it first.

約翰雖然有了答案，但話在嘴邊就是說(shuō)不出來(lái)，于是安妮先說(shuō)了出來(lái)。
