記住：“tough cookie”不是“硬餅干”！

今天咱們來學習兩個關(guān)于cookie的習語：

tough cookie

餅干是烘烤出來的甜點，看到“tough cookie”小伙伴可能會認為餅干烤的時間比較久，所以變得很硬。

但是如果有人用來形容自己或者是別人呢?就不能只看表面意思啦~

其實這個短語指的是A strong, determined person who is not easily intimidated, discouraged, or defeated. “意志堅強的人”。

如果一個人能夠處理困難的情況，你就可以說他是“one tough cookie”。

比如：

She had a difficult childhood, but she's a tough cookie. I know she'll be a success.

她的童年很不幸，但是她很頑強，我認為她一定會成功。

都是這樣的;人生就是如此。

這句話在日常生活里很常用，如果一個人說That's the way the cookie crumbles.或That's how the cookie crumbles. TA其實是想表達即使事情發(fā)展不盡人意，也要學會接受現(xiàn)實。

比如：

You're not always on peak performance, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

你不可能總是狀態(tài)極佳，但這就是現(xiàn)實。
