增詞法（七）

　　c. 在抽象名詞后增加名詞

　　有些有動詞或形容詞派生出來的抽象名詞，翻譯時可根據(jù)上下文在其后面增添適當?shù)拿~，使譯文更合乎規(guī)范。

　　to persuade 說服 persuasion 說服工作

　　to prepare 準備 preparation 準備工作

　　backward 落后 backwardness 落后狀態(tài)

　　tense 緊張 tension 緊張局勢

　　arrogant 自滿 arrogance 自滿情緒

　　mad 瘋狂 madness 瘋狂行為

　　antagonistic 敵對 antagonism敵對態(tài)度

　　After all preparations were made, the planes were flown across the U.S. to San Francisco.

　　一切準備工作就緒以后，飛機就飛越美國去舊金山。

　　In the summer of 1969, the Administration publicly urged an easing of tensions with China.

　　一九六九年夏天，政府公開主張緩和同中國的緊張關(guān)系。

　　Profanity was tacitly given up.

　　褻瀆神靈的粗話全都心照不宣地不用了。
