Sportsmanship means the right spirit
運(yùn)動(dòng)員精神是
for people who are taking part in any sport or playingany game.
相對(duì)于那些參加各種級(jí)別的運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)，并盡力參加每一場(chǎng)比賽的用動(dòng)員而言的。
Everybody knows that a real sportsman would neverdream of cheating in a game.
所有人都知道真正的運(yùn)動(dòng)員從不奢望在賽場(chǎng)上靠作弊取勝。
He always plays fair and follows the rules of the game.
他總是行為正直，遵守比賽規(guī)則，
He takes the game seriously. He is keen to win,
并且認(rèn)真地進(jìn)行比賽，他渴望取勝，
plays with all his energy to beat his opponent,
全身心地投入以擊敗對(duì)手。
and expects his opponents to be as serious as he is.
同時(shí)，他又期待對(duì)手像他一樣嚴(yán)肅地對(duì)待比賽。
He will play a losing game with dignity.
即使他對(duì)比賽沒有信心但他還是帶著尊嚴(yán)參賽
An unsportsmanlike player will often lose his temper when he is losing,
一個(gè)不稱職的運(yùn)動(dòng)員在比賽失敗時(shí)會(huì)大發(fā)脾氣，
like a spoilt child.
像寵壞的孩子似的。
The true sportsman keeps in good humor even when he is defeated.
而真正的運(yùn)動(dòng)員即使被擊敗了，還照樣保持幽默的態(tài)度。
The final test of a real sportsman is whether he can take defeat well.
檢驗(yàn)一個(gè)運(yùn)動(dòng)員的真正標(biāo)準(zhǔn)是他對(duì)待失敗的態(tài)度。
If he is defeated and congratulates the winner,
假如他被擊敗時(shí)，仍真誠(chéng)地向獲勝者表示祝賀，
he has indeed the true sporting spirit
那他就完全具備了成為一個(gè)真正的運(yùn)動(dòng)員的品質(zhì)了。
