但是,正當(dāng)我站在那里猶豫不決的時(shí)候,他望望角落里那只鐘,喊了起來(lái),我打賭,現(xiàn)在已交禮拜日了...今兒晚上你見(jiàn)不到那個(gè)標(biāo)槍手了;

he's come to anchor somewhere--come along then;do come; won't ye come?

他已經(jīng)在什么地方拋錨嘍...那么,跟我來(lái)吧;來(lái)呀;你不來(lái)嗎?

I considered the matter a moment, and then up stairs we went, and I was ushered into a smallroom, cold as a clam, and furnished,

sure enough, with a prodigious bed, almost big enough indeed for any four harpooneers tosleep abreast.

There, said the landlord, placing the candle on a crazy old sea chest that did double duty as awash-stand and centre table;

你看,店老板一面說(shuō),一面把蠟燭放在一只船上用的。破舊的柜子上,它既派洗臉架又派桌子的用場(chǎng);

there, make yourself comfortable now; and good night to ye.

你看,現(xiàn)在你可以安息了;祝你晚安。

I turned round from eyeing the bed, but he had disappeared.

我本來(lái)注視著那只床,這時(shí)轉(zhuǎn)過(guò)身來(lái),可是,他已經(jīng)走得沒(méi)影沒(méi)蹤了。

Folding back the counterpane, I stooped over the bed. Though none of the most elegant, it yetstood the scrutiny tolerably well.

我揭開(kāi)罩被,彎下腰看一看。這張床雖然說(shuō)不上怎樣講究,卻還過(guò)得去。

I then glanced round the room; and besides the bedstead and centre table, could see no otherfurniture belonging to the place,

but a rude shelf, the four walls, and a papered fireboard representing a man striking awhale.

只有四垛墻壁,一只粗糙的架子,和一塊紙做的壁爐隔板,上面畫(huà)著一個(gè)人在捕鯨。
