The South African president Jacob Zuma has announced the findings of an inquiry into the shootings by police of striking workers of the Marikana Platinum mine . 34 miners were killed in August 2012, the worst violence in the country’s scene since the end of the Apartheid. The inquiry heavily criticized the police.

He was speaking after the court ruled that subsidies to make health insurance affordable should not depend on where people live. “There can be no doubt that this law is working. ”The case turned on just 4 words in the legislation established by the state. Apparent argue that in the 34 states that had chosen not to establish insurance markets for people to buy health plans, the subsidies that should be payed to the poorest would not be available. But in the end the Supreme Court voted 6-3 to throw out the challenge. Hilary Clinton, the front runner of the Democratic nomination applauded the decision. The Republican leader of the House of the Representatives John Boehner said Obama care was still a broken law.

Eurozone finance ministers have ended that talks aimed at solving the Greek debt crisis without agreement. It is expected they’ll reconvene on Saturday for another round of negotiations to try to prevent the Greece defaulting on its debt. Jean-Claude Juncker, the president of the European Commission has refused to accept a failure of the talks.
