CARL AZUZ, HOST: There`s a new Congress in town. It`s the 114th Congress in American history. It was sworn in yesterday and it`s where we begin this Wednesday`s show.

一個(gè)新的國(guó)會(huì)已經(jīng)產(chǎn)生，這是美國(guó)歷史上第114個(gè)國(guó)會(huì)。昨天已經(jīng)宣誓“開(kāi)張”，本周三的新聞就先來(lái)說(shuō)一說(shuō)國(guó)會(huì)。

For the first time since 2006, the Republican Party will control both chambers of the U.S. Congress. The GOP swept last year`s midterm elections, gaining a 54 seat majority in the U.S. Senate and expanding its control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

這是自2006年以來(lái)共和黨派首次控制國(guó)會(huì)兩院。去年中期選舉中共和黨橫掃選舉大勢(shì)獲得了美國(guó)參議院中54個(gè)席位，并且擴(kuò)大了在美國(guó)眾議院中的控制權(quán)。

Ohio`s John Boehner was elected to continue leading the House. Kentucky`s Mitch McConnell was sworn in to take over leading the Senate.

俄亥俄州的約翰博納當(dāng)選繼續(xù)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)眾議院，而肯塔基州的麥康奈爾宣誓就職接替領(lǐng)導(dǎo)參議院。

This will be the first time in Barack Obama`s presidency that the Democratic executive will work with an entirely Republican controlled legislative branch. The two parties have been at odds over a lot of issues -- the Keystone XL Pipeline, which would transport oil from Canada through the US. Health care, specifically, the president`s health care reform law of 2010. Also, immigration and national security. The two branches may have to compromise to make things happen.

這將是奧巴馬擔(dān)任總統(tǒng)以來(lái)第一次民主黨派與完全由共和黨派控制的立法機(jī)構(gòu)合作。雙方黨派一致就諸多問(wèn)題產(chǎn)生爭(zhēng)執(zhí)，例如從加拿大向美國(guó)運(yùn)輸石油的幾時(shí)XL管道。還有醫(yī)療，尤其是總統(tǒng)在2010年進(jìn)行的醫(yī)療衛(wèi)生改革法案。同樣還有移民問(wèn)題和國(guó)家安全問(wèn)題。而雙方不得不同時(shí)做出妥協(xié)好讓工作繼續(xù)進(jìn)行。

The average price for gasoline in the U.S. $2.19 a gallon and dropping. Looking back over the past 10 years, prices have been all over the place. In early January of `05, they were $1.78 per gallon. They spiked to $4.11 in the summer of `08, plunged to $1.65 as the Great

美國(guó)汽油平均價(jià)格為每加侖2.19美元，并且在下降。往回追溯10年，油價(jià)普遍下降。在05年一月早些時(shí)候，每加侖油價(jià)為1.78美元，但是在08年的夏天飆升到了4.11美元，

Recession sank in and were $3.32 this time last year.

而受經(jīng)濟(jì)大蕭條影響暴跌至1.65美元，而今年油價(jià)又達(dá)到了3.32美元。

Why?

這是為什么呢?

The price of crude oil. It`s the biggest factor in gas prices. And looking at what`s behind the current drop, this is all about supply and demand.

原因是原油價(jià)格變化對(duì)天然氣價(jià)格影響非常大。而現(xiàn)在價(jià)格下降背后隱藏的原因則是供給和需求的關(guān)系。
