It was 5:30 on the afternoon of December 12, 2001. I was riding along Fifth Avenue towards the east. On the other side of the street, I saw that an elderly man had come out of a grocers and was trying to cross the street when a car suddenly made a right turn into Fifth Avenue from Peace Street and hit him. The old man fell down with a cry.
