7. I think that young children often appreciate modern pictures better than anyoneelse.

語言點 else意為“其他的”,既可作形容詞,又可作副詞,但必須放在被修飾詞之后。
1) 可與somethings anything, nothing, someone, somebody等復(fù)合不定代詞連用. Would you likeanything else to eat?你還要吃點別的什么嗎?
2) 可與who, what, how, where連用,但不能與which, when, why連用。
8. They notice more.
他們觀察到的東西更多。
語言點 They notice more.= They notice further.(further 更遠,更進一'步)

語言點 if和whether都可以表示“是否”,二者的用法有三點重要區(qū)別:
1) if不可以放在句首引導(dǎo)主語從句。
It is not clear to me if my girlfriend likes this gift.我的女朋友是否喜歡這個禮物,我還不是很清楚。
(×)If my girlfriend likes this gift is not clear to me.(錯誤)
2) if不可以與動詞不定式連用。
I don’t know whether to answer this question.我不知道是否要回答這個問題。
(×)I don’t know if to answer this question.(錯誤)
3) if后面很少加or not。
I ask my students whether my English book is good or not. 我問我的學(xué)生我的英語書好不好。
(×)I ask my students if my English book is good or not.(錯誤)
