Lesson 21 Mad or not?

課文內容：

Aeroplanes are slowly driving me mad. I live near anairport and passing planes can be heard night andday. The airport was built years ago, but for somereason it could not be used then. Last year,however, it came into use. Over a hundred peoplemust have been driven away from their homes by thenoise. I am one of the few people left. Sometimes Ithink this house will be knocked down by apassing plane. I have been offered a large sum of money to go away, but I amdetermined to stay here. Everybody says I must be mad and they are probably right.

有時候我覺得我的房子會被一架飛過的飛機撞倒，

語言點1 此句的核心語法點是將來時的被動語態(tài)，結構為：will be done (+by...)

語言點2 比較學習home和house:

home家(具有感情色彩)：East or west, home is the best.金窩銀窩不如自己的狗窩。. house房子(僅僅是居住的地方)

語言點3 knock down =knock over 撞倒

knock out撞昏，knock off下班。

他們提出要給我一筆可現的補償讓我搬走，但我決定留下來。

語言點 (1) offer作動詞意為“提供;給予;貢獻;愿意;出價”：

offer a few ideas提出幾點意見;offer to help sb.表示愿意幫助某人

(2) offer作名詞指在求職、留學申請等情況的錄取通知

He is expecting tiie ofifer of Harvard University day and night 他日夜都在期待著哈佛大學的錄取通知書。

9.Everybody says I must be mad and they are probably right.

大家都說我肯定是瘋了，也許他們說的是對的。

語言點1 再次強調，everybody作主語時必須視為單數形式，對應的謂語動詞用單數。

語言點2 probably (adv.很可能地)修飾right (adj.對的)，相當于must be right。
