Lesson 21 Mad or not?

課文內(nèi)容：

Aeroplanes are slowly driving me mad. I live near anairport and passing planes can be heard night andday. The airport was built years ago, but for somereason it could not be used then. Last year,however, it came into use. Over a hundredpeople must have been driven away from theirhomes by the noise. I am one of the few peopleleft. Sometimes I think this house will be knockeddown by a passing plane. I have been offered a large sum of money to go away, but I amdetermined to stay here. Everybody says I must be mad and they are probably right.

然而去年機(jī)場(chǎng)開(kāi)始使用了。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn) “動(dòng)詞+ into”短語(yǔ)：come into use投入使用; change into變成;get into卷入，進(jìn)入：get intotroubles 惹上麻煩;throw into 拓進(jìn);creep into 爬進(jìn);sb. be into 給……迷住，對(duì)…… 深感興趣：Mybrother, Jay, is into computer game now. 我弟弟杰伊現(xiàn)在對(duì)電腦游戲著迷。

5.Over a hundred people must have been driven away from their homes by the noise.

有100多人肯定是被噪音逼得已經(jīng)棄家遠(yuǎn)去。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 have been driven away... by...，此句為典型的現(xiàn)在完成時(shí)的被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 over—詞多義，基本意思是“在……之上”, 這里意為“超過(guò)”。 其他用法：Try it over.再試試看。/ beover-careful過(guò)分謹(jǐn)慎; over the street在街對(duì)面

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)3 drive的常用短語(yǔ)：drive away趕走;drive out趕出;drive into趕進(jìn);drive sb. back把某人趕回;drive sb. mad把某人逼瘋;drive at用意所在;drive to開(kāi)車(chē)前往

常見(jiàn)于口語(yǔ)：

I don’t understand what you’re driving at.我不明白您的意思。

My good friends are driving to the supermarket.我的好朋友們正開(kāi)車(chē)去超市。

6.I am one of the few people left.

我是少數(shù)留下來(lái)的人當(dāng)中的一個(gè)。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 “one of +范圍，，表示“……中的一個(gè)”：He is one of the gangsters. 他是歹徒之一。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 the few people其中為數(shù)不多的人

Few people like snakes and snails. 很少有人喜歡蛇和蝸牛。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)3 left是leave(剩下，留下)的過(guò)去式及過(guò)去分詞形式，在此為過(guò)去分詞作后置定語(yǔ)。
