If you park your car in the wrong place, a trafficpoliceman will soon find it. You will be very lucky if helets you go without a ticket. However, this does notalways happen. Traffic police are sometimes verypolite. During a holiday in Sweden, I found this noteon my car: Sir, we welcome you to our city. This is a"No Parking" area. You will enjoy your stay here ifyou pay attention to our street signs. This noteis only a reminder.' If you receive a request like this, you cannot fail to obey it!

謹此字條提請注意。

語言點1 only意為“僅僅，只不過”，表示強調(diào)，需要強調(diào)什么就放其前面即可。

此句稍作改動：Only this note is a reminder.僅有這個條子是提醒物。再如：

Only I love you.只有我愛你。(強調(diào)我)

I love only you.我愛的只是你。(強調(diào)你)

語言點2 表達“僅僅，只不過”

1)nothing but僅僅，只不過

This note is nothing but a reminder.這個字條只不過是個提醒罷了。

2)nothing more (than)僅僅，只不過

He is nothing more (than) a small officer.他只不過是一個小芝麻官。

如果你收到這樣的懇求，你不會不遵照執(zhí)行的!
