《2020研究前沿》全球發(fā)布 中國在4個領(lǐng)域全球領(lǐng)先

近日，中國科學院科技戰(zhàn)略咨詢研究院、文獻情報中心與科睿唯安在北京聯(lián)合舉辦“2020研究前沿發(fā)布暨研討會”，面向全球發(fā)布《2020研究前沿》報告和《2020研究前沿熱度指數(shù)》。

China now ranks first in four major areas of scientific research in terms of academic activity and influence, trailing only the United States, which leads in seven, according to the report "Research Fronts 2020".

《2020研究前沿》報告顯示，在學術(shù)活動及影響力層面，美國在七個領(lǐng)域排名第一，中國緊隨其后，在四個領(lǐng)域全球領(lǐng)先。

【單詞講解】

這里的trail用作動詞，表示“lag behind”，即“落后于...”，比如：After a kilometer, I trailed the other runners.(一公里以后，我落后于其他跑者)。此外，這個詞還有“跟蹤、追蹤;拖、拉”等意思，比如：The police are trailing the robbers.(警方正在追蹤搶劫犯)。The dog's leash was trailing along the ground.(狗繩一直拖著地)。由此，trail用作名詞的時候經(jīng)常表示“蹤跡、痕跡;小路”之類的意思，比如：a trail of blood(一灘血跡)、winding trail on the mountain(山上蜿蜒的小徑)等。

《前沿報告》自2014年以來每年發(fā)布一次?！?020研究前沿》報告首次將以往的數(shù)學、計算機科學與工程學領(lǐng)域拆分成數(shù)學和信息科學兩個領(lǐng)域，遴選展示了在農(nóng)業(yè)科學(agricultural sciences)、植物學(botany)和動物學(zoology)，生態(tài)與環(huán)境科學(ecological and environmental sciences)，地球科學(geoscience)，臨床醫(yī)學(clinical medicine)，生物科學(bioscience)，化學與材料科學( chemistry & materials science)，物理學(physics)，天文學(astronomy)與天體物理學(astrophysics)，數(shù)學(mathematics)，信息科學(information science)，經(jīng)濟學(economics)、心理學(psychology)及其他社會科學(social sciences)等11個大科學領(lǐng)域(11 broad research categories)的110個熱點前沿(110 prominent frontier research topics)和38個新興前沿(38 emerging subjects)。

《2020研究前沿熱度指數(shù)》在《2020研究前沿》基礎(chǔ)上，評估了中、美、英、德、法、日等國家在上述研究前沿中的表現(xiàn)。

This year, China leads the world in four major research categories: agricultural sciences, botany and zoology; chemistry and materials science; mathematics and information science. China also ranks second in ecology and environmental sciences; physics; social sciences including economics and psychology.

今年，中國在“農(nóng)業(yè)科學、植物學和動物學”“化學與材料科學”“數(shù)學”“信息科學”4個領(lǐng)域全球領(lǐng)先;在“生態(tài)與環(huán)境科學”“物理學”以及“經(jīng)濟學”和“心理學”等社會科學領(lǐng)域排名第二。

However, China is notably behind other scientific powerhouses in clinical medicine and astronomy and astrophysics, ranking at 12th and 8th, respectively.

不過，中國在臨床醫(yī)學以及天文學與天體物理學方面與其他科技強國差距明顯，分別排名第12名和第8名。
