　　可起訴的，可提起訴訟的

　　torts (民事侵權(quán)行為) which are in themselves sufficient grounds for bringing an action without the need to prove that damage has been suffered.

　　侵權(quán)本身足以構(gòu)成起訴某人的根據(jù)，無須證明遭受了損失。

　　2、adduce

　　引證，提出，引述

　　to adduce evidence = to bring evidence before a court.

　　出庭提供證據(jù)

　　3、adeem

　　撤消，收回，廢止

　　to remove a legacy from a will because the item mentioned no longer exists.

　　從遺囑中取消遺產(chǎn)，因?yàn)樗峒暗奈锲凡粡?fù)存在，例如遺囑人在死前已 將它賣給別人。

　　4、ad hoc

　　Latin phrase meaning "for his particular purpose", 專門的，特 別的，為某一特別目的，

　　an ad hoc committee = a committee set up to study a particular problem. 專門委員會(為研究某一專門問題成立起來的委員會)

　　5、adjective law

　　= law which refers to legal practices and procedures

　　程序法(關(guān)于法律訴訟手續(xù)和程序的法律)

　　6、adjourn

　　= to stop a meeting for a period; to put off a legal hearing 　　 to a late date

　　休會(使會議停止一段時間);將審訊延遲 　 The chairman adjourned the tribunal until three o'clock.

　　主席將審訊一直推遲到3點(diǎn)鐘。

　　The appeal was adjourned for affidavits to be obtained.

　　為獲得宣誓書，上訴被推遲。
