　　a. = money lent for a short time 通融貸款，短期貸款

　　b. = something done to help someone 通融(做某事幫助某人)

　　e.g. to reach an accommodation with creditors = to agree terms for settlement 與債權(quán)人取得和解(同意了解債務(wù)的條件)

　　accommodation address = address used for receiving messages but which is not the real address of the company 權(quán)宜通信地址(不是 公司的真實(shí)地址，只用它來得到音信)

　　accommodation bill = bill of exchange where the drawee signing is helping another company (the drawer ) to raise a loan; it is given on the basis of trade debts owed to the borrower 通融匯票(受票人 簽字是幫助另一個(gè)公司即出票人籌措貸款，這種匯票的給予是以欠借款人 的貿(mào)易債務(wù)為依據(jù)的)

　　accommodation maker = person who signs a promissory note for no fee, but who expects to lend the creditor money. 通融期票出票人 (為向債權(quán)人進(jìn)行貸款而免費(fèi)在期票上簽字的人)

　　2. accredited

　　a. = (agent) who is appointed by a company to act on its behalf (代表，代理人)被委任的(被一個(gè)公司任命，代表它做事) b. = (ambassador) who is appointed by a country to represent it in another country.

　　(使節(jié))被任命的(被一個(gè)國(guó)家任命在另一個(gè)國(guó)家擔(dān)任其代表)

　　e.g. He is accredited to the United Nations.

　　他被任命為聯(lián)合國(guó)大使。

　　3. accuse...of...

　　= to say that someone has committed a crime or to charge someone with a crime. 指控、告發(fā)某人犯罪

　　She was accused of stealing 25 pounds from her boss. 她被告發(fā)從老板那兒偷了25鎊錢。

　　He was accused of murder. 他被控有謀殺罪。

　　accused = person or persons charged with a crime 刑事被告

　　All the accused pleaded not guilty. 所有刑事被告表示不服罪。

　　The police brought the accused jnto the court. 警察將被告帶進(jìn)法庭。

　　4. aquit

　　= to set a person free because he has been found not guilty. 無罪釋放

　　He was acquitted of the crime. 他被宣判無罪。

　　The court acquitted two of the accused. 法庭釋放了兩名被告。

　　5. act

　　= statute which has been approved by a law-making body. 行為，公約，法律，條例，法令，成文法

　　Act of Parliament = decision which has been approved by Parliament and so becomes law 國(guó)會(huì)法令(經(jīng)議會(huì)批準(zhǔn)并已成為法律的決定)

　　Finance Act = annual Act of the British Parliament which gives the government power to raise taxes as proposed in the budget. 金融法，財(cái)政法(英國(guó)議會(huì)法案，該法案授予英國(guó)政府按預(yù)算中的建議征 稅的權(quán)力)
