so that, so...that 與 such...that

1.so that 前面我們已經(jīng)說過，可以引導(dǎo)目的狀語或者結(jié)果狀語從句。這里主要講一下so...that 與 such...that的用法。

2.so...that 主要引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句，意為“如此......以致于”，在這里so 是副詞，其后接形容詞或副詞，說明程度的大小。

The story was so funny that it made everybody laugh.
這個故事太滑稽了，把大家都逗笑了。

He had so many falls that he was black and blue all over.
他摔了很多跤，以致于全身上下青一塊，紫一塊的。

He runs so fast that nobody can catch up with him.
他跑得非?？?，沒人能追上他。

3.such...that 這里的such是形容詞，其后可以接三種形式。

1) such＋a(an)＋adj.＋單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞＋that…clause

He is such a clever boy that everybody likes him.
他非常聰明，大家都非常喜歡他。

2)such＋adj.＋復(fù)數(shù)可數(shù)名詞＋that…clause

They are such interesting novels that I want to read them once again.
這些小說非常有趣，我想再讀一遍。

3)such＋adj.＋不可數(shù)名詞＋that…clause

He has made such great progress that the teachers are pleased with him.
他進步得很快，老師們對他感到很滿意。
