　　1.break v. 破裂，(云，霧等)消散

　　A: The heavy clouds are breaking at last!

　　甲:濃云終于散開(kāi)了。

　　B : Thank God!

　　乙:謝天謝地!

　　2.brew v. (風(fēng)暴等)醞釀

　　A: A storm is brewing in the west.

　　甲:西邊天空上有暴風(fēng)雨在聚集。

　　B: Too bad!

　　乙:太糟了!

　　3.clear up (天氣等)放晴

　　A: It seems to be clearing up.

　　甲:天氣似乎要放晴。

　　B: I hope so.

　　乙:但愿如此。

　　4.cloud over 云層密布

　　A: I think it's going to cloud over.

　　甲:天要轉(zhuǎn)陰了。

　　B: God, I hope it will he fine tomorrow.

　　乙:天哪，真希望明天天氣能好。

　　5.damp a. 潮濕的.

　　A: A little damp, don't you agree?

　　甲:有點(diǎn)要下雨的樣子，對(duì)嗎?

　　B: Oh, Yes.Look at those thick clouds.

　　乙:啊，是啊，看看那些厚厚的云層就知道了。

　　6.downpour n. 傾盆大雨

　　A: Gosh! We are having a downpour?

　　甲:天哪，下傾盆大雨啦!

　　B: Let's have a rest .

　　乙:那么休息一會(huì)吧。

　　7.drizzly a. 下著蒙蒙細(xì)雨的

　　A: It's said to turn drizzly this afternoon.

　　甲:據(jù)說(shuō)今天下午要轉(zhuǎn)小雨。

　　B: Good. We haven't had rain for almost one month.

　　乙:真好，我們已經(jīng)大約有一個(gè)月沒(méi)下雨了。

　　8.drop n. 滴

　　A: A storm is wining.

　　甲:要來(lái)暴風(fēng)雨了。

　　B: I can feel some small drops of rain now.

　　乙:現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)開(kāi)始掉小雨點(diǎn)了。

　　9.intermittently ad. 間歇地，斷斷續(xù)續(xù)地

　　A: It has been raining intermittently all day.

　　甲:整天都在斷斷續(xù)續(xù)地下雨。

　　B: I hate this. There is too much rain.

　　乙:真討厭，雨下得太多了。

　　10.last v. 持續(xù)

　　A: Do you think the rain will last long?

　　甲:你覺(jué)得雨會(huì)下很長(zhǎng)時(shí)間嗎?

　　B: Who knows!There doesn't seem to be any sign of it stopping.

　　乙:天曉得!一點(diǎn)也沒(méi)有要停的跡象。

　　11.overcast a. 多云的，陰暗的

　　A: The skies were overcast but it's clear now.

　　甲:剛才天空中還濃云密布，現(xiàn)在卻沒(méi)有了。

　　B: But I can still see some traces.

　　乙:但還能看見(jiàn)一些馬尾云。

　　12.pour v. 倒，灌，注

　　A: It's pouring.

　　甲:正在下大雨。

　　B: No breezes, no sunshine, it's driving me crazy!

　　乙:沒(méi)有一絲風(fēng)，也沒(méi)有陽(yáng)光，我都快瘋了!

　　13.rainbow n. 彩虹

　　A: Wow!What a perfect rainbow!

　　甲:哇!好漂亮的彩虹!

　　B: It has almost every color.

　　乙:幾乎各種顏色都有。

　　14.rain eats and dogs 下傾盆大雨

　　A: How do you find the weather there?

　　甲:那兒的天氣怎么樣?

　　B: It's raining cats and dogs, and I'm caught in it.

　　乙:正在下傾盆大雨，讓我碰了個(gè)正著。

　　15.rainy a. 下雨的，多雨的

　　A: I hate this rainy day.

　　甲:我討厭下雨的天氣。

　　B: Well, I hope it won't last long.

　　乙:唉，希望雨不會(huì)下得太久。

　　16.set in 到來(lái)，開(kāi)始

　　A: The rain is setting in.

　　甲:開(kāi)始下雨啦。

　　B: The broadcast says it won't last long.

　　乙:天氣預(yù)報(bào)說(shuō)雨不會(huì)下太久的。

　　17.shower n. 陣雨

　　A: It's only a shower.

　　甲:只是一場(chǎng)陣雨而已。

　　B: Uh-huh. Now I can，the bright sun again.

　　乙:嗯?，F(xiàn)在我又看到太陽(yáng)了。

　　18.spot v. 下小雨

　　A: Look! It's beginning to spot!

　　甲:看!開(kāi)始下零星小雨了!

　　B: And it's getting dark, too.

　　乙:而且天也越來(lái)越暗了。

　　19.subside v. 平靜下來(lái)，平息

　　A: The heavy rain is subsiding.

　　甲:大雨正在逐漸平息。

　　B: I suppose it would pass over soon.

　　乙:我想很快就會(huì)過(guò)去的。

　　20.thunder rain 雷陣雨

　　A: It seems as if a thunder rain is coming up.

　　甲:似乎要下雷陣雨了。

　　B: Never mind. As long as it doesn't rain, we'll start.

　　乙:不要緊。只要夭不下雨，我們就出發(fā)。
