北京師范大學(xué)是中國歷史上第一所師范大學(xué)，其前身是1902年在京師大學(xué)堂設(shè)立的師范館，I923年更名為北京師范大學(xué)。北京師范大學(xué)是-所以教師教育、教育科學(xué)和文理基礎(chǔ)科學(xué)為主要特色的著名百年學(xué)府，是首批國家"211工程”以及教育部“教育振興行動”院校。

Beijing Normal University(BNU)is the earliest established teacher-training university in China，which grew out of the Faculty of Education of the Metropolitan University founded in 1902.It was named Beijing Normal University in 1923.BNU is a well-known key university with a history of a hundred years，setting up a curriculum system for characteristics of teacher training，educational science，pure science and humanities.

學(xué)校位于北京市，現(xiàn)有校園總面積70公頃。北京師范大學(xué)設(shè)23個學(xué)院，3個系，17個研究院(中心)。現(xiàn)有本科專業(yè)55個，155個碩士學(xué)位授權(quán)點，91個博士學(xué)位授權(quán)點，16個博士后流動站，16個碩士、博士學(xué)位一級學(xué)科授權(quán)點。碩士、博士點數(shù)在全國高校居于前列。

BNU is located in Beijing city with a total area of 70 hectares.BNU comprises 23 full-time schools plus 3 departments，17 research institutes(centers)，55 bachelor's degree programs，155 master degree programs，91 doc-torote degree programs，16 post-doctorate stations，16master or doctorate programs in first-level disciplines. BNU ranks first in the number of postgraduate degree programs among nationwide universities.

有16個國家重點學(xué)科、6個北京市重點學(xué)科。有一個國家重點實驗室，8個教育部重點實驗室，3個教育部工程中心(研究院、網(wǎng)上合作中心),5個北京市重點實驗室，2個北京市工程技術(shù)研究中心，7個教育部人文社會科學(xué)重點研究基地，，一個北京市文科研究基地。

It has 16 state key disciplines and 6 Beijing key disciplines. Apart from that，BNU has one state key laboratory，8 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education，3 engineering centers(research institutes or on-line cooperation center)，5 Beijing key laboratories，2 Beijing researcher centers of engineering and technology 7 key research bases of the Ministry of Education for liberal arts and social sciences and 1 Beijing research base for sciences

北京師范大學(xué)現(xiàn)有專任教師1400余人具有博士學(xué)位的教師占教師總數(shù)的68。兩院院士19人，國家批準(zhǔn)有突出貢獻的中青年專家17人，“長江學(xué)者獎勵計劃”特聘教授11人、講座教授3人，國家杰出青年基金獲得者14人。

The total faculty fulltime members of BNU are 1400，68 percent of whom own doctorate degrees. It has 19 academicians of either the Chinese Academy of sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering，17 middle-age experts with outstanding contributions at the national level，11 special professors of “Cheungkong Scholars Program”，3 resident professors and 14 recipients of State Outstanding Youth Foundation.

在校全日制學(xué)生總數(shù)達19000人，其中本科生8 500余人，研究生8 T00余人，長期留學(xué)生1800余人。網(wǎng)絡(luò)與繼續(xù)教育各類學(xué)生近30000人。

BNU enrolls over 19000 full-time students including 8500 undergraduates，over 8700 master's degrees candidates and doctoral candidates，and 1 800 over-seas students. Besides，there are nearly 30 000 students in continuing and online education.

學(xué)校圖書館建于1917年，目前圖書館兩棟樓建筑面積達22 300平方米。一書刊藏量300余萬冊。

歷史變遷 Glorious History

1902年北京師范大學(xué)的前身京師大學(xué)堂師范館創(chuàng)立。

1902 The Faculty of Education of the Metropolitan University，the predecessor of Beijing Normal University，was founded.1908 The Fatuity of Education of fihe Metropolitan University was renamed the School of Education of First-Rate and was run independently.

1908年京師大學(xué)堂師范館改稱京師優(yōu)級師范學(xué)堂，獨立設(shè)校。

1912年京師優(yōu)級師范學(xué)堂改名北京高等師范學(xué)校。

1912 It was renamed Beijing Advanced Normal College.

1923年北京高等師范學(xué)校更名為北京師范大學(xué)。

1923 Beijing Advanced Normal College was renamed Beijing Normal University.

1931年北京女子師范大學(xué)與北京師范大學(xué)合并，定名國立北平師范大學(xué)。

1931 Beijing Women Normal university and Beijing Normal University merged to form Beiping Public Normal University.

1937年北平師范大學(xué)被迫遷往西安。

1937 Beiping Public Normal University was forced to move to Xi'an.

1946年北平師范大學(xué)遷回北平。

1946 Beiping Pubfic Normal University moved back to Beiping(Beijing).

1949年北平師范大學(xué)學(xué)校改名為北京師范大學(xué)。

1949 Beiping Public Normal University was renamed Beijing Normal University.

1952年輔仁大學(xué)與北京師范大學(xué)合并。

1952 Furen University merged into Beijing Normal University.
