北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)是教育部直屬的全國(guó)重點(diǎn)院校之一，是我國(guó)外語(yǔ)院校中歷史最悠久、層次齊全、語(yǔ)種最多的高等院校。

Beijing Foreign Studies University(BFSU)is a state key university under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and a university of high learning with a long history，mufti disciplines and languages.

北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)位于北京市，占地面積31萬(wàn)平方米。大學(xué)圖書(shū)館由南館和北館組成，面積約10000平方米，內(nèi)設(shè)閱覽座位1 000席館藏文獻(xiàn)總量約92萬(wàn)冊(cè)，中外文期一刊 1200多種，各種音像資料 8000多件，已初步形成了以語(yǔ)言、文學(xué)、文化為主要資料的館藏特色。

BFSU is situated in Beijing City and covers an area of 310 000 square meters.The University library is composed of the Southern Building and the Northern Building，cavering near 10 000 square meters with t 000 seats for reading. The library has a total collection of 920 000 volumes，over 1 200 newspapers and magazines in Chinese and foreign languages and over 8000 audio and video materials of all kinds，forming its characteristic with the main collection of material in the fields of

language，literature and culture.

北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)現(xiàn)有7個(gè)學(xué)院，10個(gè)系部，開(kāi)設(shè)44個(gè)本科專(zhuān)業(yè)，其中18種語(yǔ)言是全國(guó)唯一學(xué)科點(diǎn)?，F(xiàn)設(shè)有一個(gè)博士后流動(dòng)站，9個(gè)博士點(diǎn)，13個(gè)碩士點(diǎn)，在滬人員學(xué)位授權(quán)點(diǎn)6個(gè)，2個(gè)國(guó)家級(jí)重點(diǎn)學(xué)科點(diǎn)，3個(gè)北京市重點(diǎn)學(xué)科點(diǎn)，一個(gè)國(guó)家級(jí)重點(diǎn)文科研究基地。

BFSU comprises 7 academic colleges，10 schools and departments. At presentBFSU offers a total of 44 undergraduate programs，18 of them are the state only disciplines. It has 1 post-doctoral research station，9 doctoral programs，13 graduate programs at the master's level，6 ors-the一!ob master's degrees，2 state key disciplines，3 Beijing Municipal key disciplines and 1 state key research institute of huamanites and social sciences.

北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)擁有一批在外國(guó)語(yǔ)言文學(xué)、文化、翻譯等領(lǐng)域具有較強(qiáng)實(shí)力，在社會(huì)上有較高學(xué)術(shù)聲望的教授、學(xué)者，師資力量相當(dāng)雄厚。全校擁有專(zhuān)任教師576，包括博士生導(dǎo)師41人、碩士生導(dǎo)師221人，教授113人、副教授177人，其中，國(guó)務(wù)院學(xué)位委員會(huì)學(xué)科組成員2名，教育部高校外語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會(huì)委員13名，國(guó)家級(jí)有突出貢獻(xiàn)中青年專(zhuān)家4名，享受政府特殊津貼人員128名。

BFSU has a highly qualified faculty which is comprised of academically--re--nowned professors and scholars with great potential in the field of foreign language and literature，culture，translation. The University has a full-time faculty of 57，including 41 doctoral supervisors，221 master supervisors，113 full professors，177 associate professors. What is more，there are 2 members of the Subject Assessmeet Division，Degree Appraisal Committee of the State Council，4 middle-age andyoung experts with outstanding contributions at the national level and 128 recipients of special subsidies from the central government.

學(xué)校的目標(biāo)是:到2010年，將學(xué)校建成一所多語(yǔ)種、多學(xué)科、多層次培養(yǎng)復(fù)語(yǔ)型、復(fù)合型高質(zhì)量外語(yǔ)專(zhuān)門(mén)人才和外語(yǔ)運(yùn)用能力強(qiáng)的經(jīng)濟(jì)管理、外交、新聞、法律等涉外專(zhuān)業(yè)人才，國(guó)內(nèi)一流、具有重要國(guó)際影響的教學(xué)—科研型的社會(huì)主義大學(xué)。

歷史變遷 Glorious History

1941年北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)的前身延安外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)校創(chuàng)辦。

1941 Yan'an Foreign Language School，the predecessor of Beijing Foreign Studies University，was founded.

1946年與華北聯(lián)合大學(xué)外語(yǔ)系合并成立外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院。

1946 Yan'an Foreign Language School and the Foreign Language Department of North China United University merged to form Foreign Language College

1949年學(xué)校遷人北京，更名為外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)校。

1949 Foreign Language College move to Beijing and was renamed Foreign Language School.

1954年更名為北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院。

1954 It was renamed Beijing Foreign Language Institute.

1959年北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院與北京俄語(yǔ)學(xué)院合并為新的北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院

1959 The former Beijing Foreign language Institute and Beijing Russian Language Institute merged to form a new Beijing Foreign Language Institute.

1994年學(xué)校由北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院更名為北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)。

1994 The Institute was renamed Beijing ForeignStudies University.
