1981年成為國(guó)家教育部批準(zhǔn)的第一批碩士學(xué)位授予單位，1985年成為博士學(xué)位授予單位;，1996年12月學(xué)校通過國(guó)家 "211工程”預(yù)審，正式跨人國(guó)家21世紀(jì)重點(diǎn)建設(shè)的百所大學(xué)的行列。

In 1981 and was authorized to grant doctorate degrees in 1985.in December 1995，BUT passed the state Project 211”preliminary examination and became one of the hundred universities receiving preferential support from the state.

北京工業(yè)大學(xué)校位于北京市東北部的朝陽(yáng)區(qū)，學(xué)校占地面積為80余萬平方米，建筑面積4940000平方米。

Beijing University of Technology is located in Chaoyang District，the southeast part of Beijing. The campus covers an area of about 80 hectares with 4940000 square meters of floor space.

學(xué)校開設(shè)44個(gè)本科專業(yè) 81個(gè)碩士學(xué)位授予點(diǎn)和14個(gè)工程碩士授權(quán)培養(yǎng)領(lǐng)域，8個(gè)一級(jí)學(xué)科博士學(xué)位授予點(diǎn)，37個(gè)二級(jí)學(xué)科博士學(xué)位授予點(diǎn);9個(gè)博士后科研流動(dòng)站。設(shè)有2個(gè)國(guó)家級(jí)重點(diǎn)學(xué)科，8個(gè)北京市重點(diǎn)學(xué)科，2個(gè)教育部重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室，3個(gè)省部共建重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室，12個(gè)北京市級(jí)重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室或研究基地。

The university now has 44 undergraduate majors 81 master programs and 14 engineering master fields 8 doctorate programs in first-level disciplines 37 doctorate programs in second一level disciplines 9 post-doctor research stations. BUT has 2 state key disciplines，8 Beijing key disciplines. It has 2 key laboratories set by the Ministry of education 3 key laboratories co-supported by ministry and province，12 key laboratories or research bases set by Beijing city.

北京工業(yè)大學(xué)有教職工總數(shù)3304人，其中 專任教師1414人，正高272人、副高518人;博士生導(dǎo)師150人，碩士生導(dǎo)師3%人;擁有兩院院士8人，“長(zhǎng)江學(xué)者獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)計(jì)劃”1人，國(guó)家有突出貢獻(xiàn)專家5人、享受政府特殊津貼專家40人。

學(xué)校重視基礎(chǔ)性研究、高新技術(shù)研究和應(yīng)用研究，承擔(dān)著一批包括國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金 "973”計(jì)劃、"863”計(jì)劃、科技攻關(guān)計(jì)劃、北京市自然科學(xué)基金在內(nèi)的國(guó)家和北京市重大項(xiàng)目。學(xué)?，F(xiàn)有在校生25862人，其中，全日制研究生3904人(博士生610人、碩士生3294人)，在職研究生753人，普通本?？粕?3640人，成人教育本?？粕?450人，留學(xué)生115人。

The university attaches great importance to basic research and the research of high and new technology and application. It has undertaken a great number of research projects，such as projects in state natural science funds，“Plan 863”，“Project 973”，key projects and vital science and technology projects set by the state and the Beijing city. Beijing University of Technology has a total enrolment of 25 862，including 3904 full-time postgraduate students(610 doctorate candidates and 3 294 master candidates)，753 on post postgraduate students 13640 undergraduate students in 4 or 2 year undergraduate programs 7450 part-time undergraduate students in 4 or 2 year undergraduate programs and 115 overseas students.

1990 Economy Management College of Beijing Allied University merged into Beijing University of Technology.

1993年北京計(jì)算機(jī)學(xué)院并人北工大、

1993 Beijing computer College merged into Beijing University of Technology.

2000年管理干部學(xué)院并人北工大。

2000 Management Cadre College merged into Beijing University of Technology.

2004年實(shí)驗(yàn)學(xué)院遷至北京，并人北工大。

2004 Experiment College moved to Beijing and merged into Beijing University of Technology
