Situated in Ji'nan，capital city of Shandong Province，Shandong University covers an area of 357 hectares with 1，49 million square meters of floor space. The university library houses a collection of about 5 600 000 volumes.

山東大學(xué)校本部坐落在山東省會濟南市，學(xué)?？傉嫉孛娣e357公頃，基建面積149萬平方米。學(xué)校圖書館藏書560萬冊。

Shandong University consists of 31 schools/colleges，3 affiliated hospitals，12 teaching and practicing hospitals and a graduate school. Courses are offered in 11 main academic disciplines:literature，history，philosophy，economics，management，law，natural sciences，engineering，medicine，education and military.There are 25 first-category doctoral degree programs，181 second-category doctoral degree programs，15 post-doctorate mobile stations，253 master degree programs，1 professional doctoral degree program，7 professional master's degree programs and 106 undergraduate degree programs

The University now has l0 755 fulltime postgraduates(including 2 120 doctorate candidates )，42 736 undergraduates，41 935 fulltime students of continual education and on-line students and over 1 000 are international students.

現(xiàn)有全日制研究生10 755人(其中博士生2 120人)，本?？粕?2 736人，繼續(xù)教育、網(wǎng)絡(luò)教育在校生41 935人，1 000余名留學(xué)生。

The University also has。group of reputed scholars known at home and abroad. Among 3 557 fulltime faculty members，there are 29 academicians(including adjunct academicians) who are members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering，5 members of the Degree Appraisal Committee of the State Council，13 specially-invited and lecture professors on “Cheungkong Scholars Program”，11 recipients of National Outstanding Youth Foundation，17 teachers selected by national“Millions of Talents Program"，52 recipients of Cross Century Talents Foundation under the Ministry of Education. In addition，there are 922 full professors，521 doctoral supervisors and 99 invited doctoral supervisors.

Shandong University embraces an abundance of scientific research facilities，a strong teaching staff, and favorable studying environment. At the university，there exist 6 national key academic disciplines，2 national key laboratories，29 provincial key academic disciplines，6 ministerial key laboratories，16 university key laboratories，a nation's engineering and technology promotion center, 19 provincial technology research centers，4 key research bases of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education and 4 national fundamental personnel development bases.

Glorious History 歷史變遷

1901 Shandong University's original predecessor-Shandong Metropolitan Universify was established in Ji'nan.

1901年山東大學(xué)的前身官立山東大學(xué)堂在濟南創(chuàng)辦。

1904 It was renamed Shandong Institute of Higher Learning.

1904年學(xué)校改為山東高等學(xué)堂。

1911 It was renamed Shandong Schoo! of Higher Learning.

1911年又改稱山東高等學(xué)校

1926 Six academies were merged to fior rn Shandong Provincial University.

1926年六所?？茖W(xué)校合并，組建成為省立山東大學(xué)。

1932 It was renamed National Shandor}g University

1932年省立山東大學(xué)改為國立山東大學(xué)。

1937 It was moved to Anqing of Anhui Province，then to Wan County of Sichuan Province and later stopped working.

1937年國立山東大學(xué)遷往安徽安慶、四川萬縣，不久停辦。

1946 National Shandong University restored its running

1946年國立山東大學(xué)復(fù)校。

1951 Shandong University and East China University were merged with the name of Shandong University.

1951年山東大學(xué)和華東大學(xué)合并，仍名為山東大學(xué)。
