General Information 基本概況

In the course of over half a century's development，Liaoning University has
grown into a multiple-discipline comprehensive university，embracing Chinese
language and literature，history，philosophy，economics，law，foreign
languages，art，natural science，engineering and management. It is one of the state
key“Project 211”universities.

經(jīng)過(guò)半個(gè)多世紀(jì)的艱苦努力，遼寧大學(xué)已經(jīng)成為一所具備文、史、哲、經(jīng)、法、外、藝、理、工、管等多學(xué)科的遼寧省唯一的綜合性大學(xué)，是國(guó)家“211工程”重點(diǎn)建設(shè)的院校之一。

One of its predecessors is Shenyang Commercial College set up by the People's
Government of the Northeast in November.1948. The September of 1958 saw the
amalgamation of the Northeast Institute of Finance and Economics，Shenyang Normal
College and Shenyang Institute of Russian，which led to the birth of Liaoning
University. Marshal Zhu De wrote an inscription of the school name for the
University.

遼寧大學(xué)發(fā)端于1948年11月東北人民政府在沈陽(yáng)建立的商業(yè)專門學(xué)校，建校之初即招收四年制本科生。1958年9月15日，東北財(cái)經(jīng)學(xué)院、沈陽(yáng)師范學(xué)院和沈陽(yáng)俄文?？茖W(xué)校合并，組建成遼寧大學(xué)，朱德同志親筆題寫了校名。

The University is situated in Shenyang City，the capital of Liaoning
Province，and at present it has an area of 143 hectares，i.e. 1 420 000 square
meters(including the University proper, Liaoyang Foreign Languages College and
the Xinchengzi Campus)，with a building area totaling 615 000 square meters.

遼寧大學(xué)位于遼寧省會(huì)沈陽(yáng)市，學(xué)校目前有三個(gè)校區(qū)，即沈陽(yáng)崇山校區(qū)、沈陽(yáng)道義校區(qū)和遼陽(yáng)武圣校區(qū)，教學(xué)區(qū)占地面積143公頃，建筑面積61.5萬(wàn)平方米。

The University has 18 colleges，and has 62 undergraduate disciplines，110
master-degree-granting disciplines，including MBA，MPA and JM. The University is
also invested with authority to grant 3 doctorates of theoretical
economics，applied economics，business administration in the first level
disciplines and 33 doctorates in the second level disciplines. Furthermore，the
University has 3 mobile stations for post-doctoral studies to its credit, with 2
national key disciplines of world economy and national economy in addition to a
base for cultivating personnel of basic national economy，and a key base for
research on humanities，and a center of research on the system of comparative
economy as designated by the Ministry of Education. The University has 11
province-level key disciplines，5 province-level key bases of scientific research
and 2 province-level key laboratories.

學(xué)校設(shè)有18個(gè)學(xué)院，有62個(gè)本科專業(yè);110個(gè)學(xué)科具有碩士學(xué)位授予權(quán)，并設(shè)有MBA(工商管理碩士)、MPA(公共管理碩士)和JM(法律碩士)專業(yè)學(xué)位點(diǎn);包括理論經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、應(yīng)用經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)和工商管理三個(gè)一級(jí)學(xué)科博士學(xué)位授權(quán)點(diǎn)在內(nèi)，有33個(gè)二級(jí)學(xué)科博士學(xué)位授權(quán)點(diǎn)，有3個(gè)博士后流動(dòng)站;設(shè)有世界經(jīng)濟(jì)和國(guó)民經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)兩個(gè)國(guó)家級(jí)重點(diǎn)學(xué)科;設(shè)有國(guó)家經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)基礎(chǔ)人才培養(yǎng)基地和教育部人文社會(huì)科學(xué)重點(diǎn)研究基地—比較經(jīng)濟(jì)體制研究中心。學(xué)校有11個(gè)省級(jí)重點(diǎn)學(xué)科、5個(gè)省級(jí)重點(diǎn)科研基地、2個(gè)省級(jí)重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室。

At present，Liaoning University has a teaching body of 1 170 fulltime faculty
members，among whom there are 181 professors，417 associate professors，52
doctorate supervisors，1 special professors of“Cheungkong Scholars Program"，88
recipients of special subsidies from the State Council，4 teachers selected by
national“Millions of Talents Program”，2 teachers awarded the }}onor of“State
Outstanding College Lecturers"，1 State Model Lecturer，1 State Excellent
Lecturer，1 middle-agg expert with outstanding contributions at the national
level and 1 awarded the honor of Young Lecturer of High Learning by the Ministry
of Education.

學(xué)校現(xiàn)有專任教師1170人，其中教授181人，副教授417人，博士生導(dǎo)師52人，長(zhǎng)江學(xué)者特聘教授一人，享受國(guó)務(wù)院政府特殊津貼專家88人，國(guó)家百千萬(wàn)人才工程人選者4人，國(guó)家教學(xué)名師一人，國(guó)家模范教師一人，全國(guó)優(yōu)秀教師一人，國(guó)家級(jí)有突出貢獻(xiàn)的中青年科學(xué)技術(shù)管理專家一人，教育部高校青年教師獎(jiǎng)獲得者一人。

The University has a total of nearly 25 000 students of different kinds，including nearly 20 000 undergraduate students，nearly 3 500 graduate students，500 foreign students and!000 students of other kinds.

目前，學(xué)校有在校學(xué)生近25 000人，其中本科生近20 000人，研究生近3 500人，外國(guó)留學(xué)生500人，其他各類學(xué)生1 000人。

The University's library with its 42 000 square meter building area，equipped
with modern advanced facilities，is stocked with over 2. 34 million volumes，including over 300 kinds of rare and treasured books，which are affirmed
by the United Nation as the exclusive possessions of the University's library.
The University also has a history museum and a museum of natural history. They
have a collection of over two thousand pieces of art treasures and eleven
thousand pieces of biologicalspecimens respectively.Confronted with
opportunities and challenges of the new century，Liaoning University is
accelerating its reform，innovation and development.Now with the strengthening of
disciplines as its propelling force，teaching and research as its dominant
attention，the building up of teaching and managing staff as its foundation，the
improvement of campus environment as its supporting condition，reform as its
motive power，the intensification of administration work as its means of
achieving its goal，and last but not least，trengthening Party-building and
ideological and political work as its bulwark，the University will double its
effort to build itself into a teaching-and-research type university at a fairly
high academic level and with certain international influence in ten years.

學(xué)校圖書(shū)館總面積達(dá)4.2萬(wàn)平方米，館藏文獻(xiàn)234萬(wàn)冊(cè)，其中珍本、善本書(shū)300余種，已被聯(lián)合國(guó)出版署指定為聯(lián)合國(guó)文獻(xiàn)收藏圖書(shū)館。學(xué)校設(shè)有歷史博物館、自然博物館，珍藏2000余件文物和1.1萬(wàn)多種生物標(biāo)本。校園網(wǎng)是中國(guó)教育和科研網(wǎng)的組成部分，已成為沈陽(yáng)北部大學(xué)區(qū)域節(jié)點(diǎn)。邁人新世紀(jì)，遼寧大學(xué)將秉承明德精學(xué)、篤行致強(qiáng)的校訓(xùn)精神，力爭(zhēng)經(jīng)過(guò)十年的建設(shè)和發(fā)展，把遼寧大學(xué)建設(shè)成為具有較高水平和具有較大國(guó)際影響的教學(xué)一研究型大學(xué)。

Glorious History 歷史變遷

1948 The predecessor Shenyang Commerical College was set up.

1948年遼寧大學(xué)的前身商業(yè)專門學(xué)校在沈陽(yáng)建立。

1958 The Northeast Institute of Finance and Economics，Shenyang Normal College
and Shenyang Institute of Russian merged to form Liaoning University.
