聊一聊曼德拉的一生，為什么他被關(guān)了27年

來(lái)聽(tīng)今天的講解:

A: I've had a great idea for a movie, Nelson Mandela.

我有個(gè)好主意，拍一部有關(guān)納爾遜•曼德拉的電影。

B: Well. that would certainly be an intcrcsting topic.

這個(gè)話(huà)題肯定有意思。

A: I thought that we could start in his childhood, his life in prison and then his achievements later in life

我想我們可以從他的童年開(kāi)始講起，接著是獄中生活，再下來(lái)是他晚年所取得的成就。

B: Sounds good. Mandela was educated at a local mission school.  He entered the University College of Fort Hare and quickly became active in student politics.

聽(tīng)起來(lái)不錯(cuò)。曼德拉是在當(dāng)?shù)匾凰虝?huì)學(xué)校上的學(xué)，后來(lái)進(jìn)入了海爾堡大學(xué)，很快就成了學(xué)生政治運(yùn)動(dòng)的積極分子。

A: Is that why hc was kicked out of university?

他是不是因?yàn)檫@個(gè)被大學(xué)開(kāi)除了？

A: So then he moved to Johannesburg and finished his university education. He then entcred into the study and subsequendy the practice of law.

所以后來(lái)他搬到了約翰內(nèi)斯堡，在那里上完了大學(xué)。接著也開(kāi)始鉆研法律，隨后就開(kāi)業(yè)當(dāng)律師。

B: I think law was a good choice of major for him.

A: After that, he formed the ANC ( African NationaJ Congrress) Youth League, to transform the ANC from an elitist political union into a more broadly-based politicaJ movement.

此后，他組建了非洲人國(guó)民大會(huì)（非國(guó)大）青年聯(lián)盟，把非國(guó)大從一個(gè)由少數(shù)精英參與的政治聯(lián)盟變成了廣大群眾參與的政治運(yùn)動(dòng)。

B: As the apartheid policy began to reach deeper into South Afiican life, Mandela found himself constandy in opposition to the official political line of the Afrikaner-dominated govemment. He was banned, then arrested during the late 1950s.

由于種族隔離政策開(kāi)始越來(lái)越深地影響了南非人民的生活，曼德拉經(jīng)常發(fā)現(xiàn)自己與南非白人領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的政府立場(chǎng)相反。20世紀(jì)50年代末他被禁止參加公眾集會(huì)，隨后遭到逮捕。
