在這一講中，利奧與杰克和蒙納討論了他們旅游的內(nèi)容。通過他們之間的對話，您可以學習到如何用英語詢問客人的喜好，如何用將來時態(tài)表述未來要發(fā)生的事情，以及如何做出自己的建議。現(xiàn)在先讓我們一起來聽這段對話的第一部份。利奧、蒙納和杰克正在酒店的大堂里閱讀有關(guān)旅游景點的小冊子。
Leo: Now, what did you have in mind? A full day tour?
Jack: Yes.
Mona: The zoo looks good. I love animals.
Jack: But we can go to the zoo anywhere, Mona. Leo, what’s something we can only see in this city?
Leo: Well, you’re in luck. The Lantern Festival parade is on tomorrow. It’s very colourful.
Mona: Is it near the harbour? I’d love to see the harbour.
Jack: We have harbours in Australia, Mona.

Leo: Well, you’re in luck. The Lantern Festival parade is on tomorrow. It’s very colourful.

Mona: Is it near the harbour? I’d love to see the harbour.
杰克: 澳洲也有很多海港可以看呀，蒙納。
Jack: We have harbours in Australia, Mona.

WHAT DID YOU HAVE IN MIND？ 利奧在這里使用了英語中的過去式。當然，如果為了使句子更加生動，利奧也可以用一般現(xiàn)在式。他可以說 WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN MIND？ 另外，我們還可以用另外一句英語表達同樣的意思，那就是 WHAT SORT OF TOUR WERE YOU AFTER？在英語中，TO BE AFTER SOMETHING 這個短語表示你想要做什么事的意思?，F(xiàn)在讓我們一起來練習這兩個短語。

請注意聽利奧如何告訴蒙納和杰克元宵燈會的舉行日期。
利奧: 元宵節(jié)燈會就在明天舉行。
Leo: The Lantern Festival parade is on tomorrow.
您注意到了嗎？雖然元宵節(jié)燈會在明天舉行，但是利奧卻使用了一般現(xiàn)在式。這種用法在英語中很普遍。但要注意的是你一定要在句子中包括一個表示未來時間的明確詞匯。另外，在這個句子中還有一個介詞 ON , 它必須用在一個時間名詞的前面。請跟著老師重復(fù)這個句子。
The festival is on tomorrow
The parade is on next Wednesday.
The tour is on at nine.

Jack: I think I’d like to see the parade.
Leo: You can do both! The cruise takes four hours and the parade doesn’t start until after sunset.

請注意聽利奧是如何向客人提出建議的。
利奧: 也許您會對這個活動感興趣。
Leo: Perhaps this will interest you.
在以前的課文中我們學習了向客人提出建議時會用到的一個短語，那就是 MAY I SUGGEST……..而利奧剛才所說的 PERHAPS THIS WILL INTEREST YOU 則是提出建議時的另外一種客氣的說法。請注意聽錄音并跟著重復(fù)。

杰克: 這個活動收費多少錢呢，利奧？

利奧: 您也看到了，這個活動的收費是非常合理的。
Leo: As you can see, the price is very reasonable.
在詢問收費情況時，杰克用了一句在澳洲非常流行的說法，那就是HOW MUCH WILL THAT SET US BACK？ 而利奧在形容收費標準時則使用了REASONABLE 這個詞，表示這樣的收費標準既不低廉，也不過高，而是屬于合理的范疇之內(nèi)。請聽對話并跟著重復(fù)。

為了向客人進一步推銷乘船觀看海豚的活動，利奧還引用了第二天的天氣預(yù)報。不言而喻，如果你在與客人討論未來的旅游行程時能夠附帶提供相關(guān)的天氣預(yù)報，其效果就是有可能會對客人選擇哪一個行程產(chǎn)生影響。值得注意的是利奧在這樣做的時候使用了兩個很有效的形容詞， COLOURFUL 五彩繽紛，和 PERFECT 絕好的，非常適合的。接下來就讓我們一起來做一些練習。請您先聽中文翻譯，然后請重復(fù)英文句子。
