Two Libyans are under the Trial by Scottish Government
In the Netherlands, Scottish government lawyers are completing their case(1) at the terrorism trial(2) of two Libyans. The men are charged with the bombing of an American passenger airplane over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988. A Scottish government lawyer asked the judges to reduce(3) the three charges against the suspects(4) to a single murder charge. He said he believed the case has been proven even though the evidence(5) was indirect. The two Libyans are accused of placing the bomb on the Pan Am flight. 270 people were killed. If found guilty(6), the two men face possible life terms in prison. The trial began last May. It is taking place in the Netherlands under Scottish law.
