徐燦，字湘蘋，又字明霞、明深，江蘇吳縣（今蘇州市吳中區(qū)、相城區(qū)）人。陳之遴繼配。幼穎悟，通書史。陳之遴兩次流徙，均曾隨行?？滴跏辏?671），奉旨?xì)w之遴之骨。晚年學(xué)佛，更號紫?。早年雅好吟詠，尤喜為詞。被詞人陳維崧譽為南宋后閨秀第一。有《拙政園詩馀》《拙政園詩集》。

頻寄錦書鴻不去。

怕近黃昏，

簾幕深深處。

一寸橫波愁幾許，

啼痕點點成紅雨。

倚遍闌干無意緒。

閑理余香，

獨自誰為語。

盡日懨懨如夢里，

Often I send brocade letters, but the wild goose fails to go;

I fear the creeping of dusk

Into the depths of my curtains.

How much sadness is there in a single look?

Specks of tear stains form a shower of rouge.

I’ve leaned long over the railing, but remain listless;

Casually I trim the leftover incense

All by myself, with whom can I speak?

Through the day I feel weary as in a dream;

A flash of the setting sun and I’m a thousand miles away.
