The melon grower of the Green Gate who cares
To copy? In fishing I shall find delight.
The swallows dart about the spring banks in pairs,
And hosts of gulls on the evening sand alight.

The oars creaking, songs are resounding in th' air,
Th' dishes seem to bloom, and as dew th' wine is clear.
Smiling and pointing to the boat, when ask'd where
I shall return, I'll reply: "I live right here!"
