不出門戶，就能夠推知天下的事理；不望窗外，就可以認(rèn)識日月星辰運行的自然規(guī)律。他向外奔逐得越遠(yuǎn)，他所知道的道理就越少。所以，有“道”的圣人不出行卻能夠推知事理，不窺見而能明了“天道”，不妄為而可以有所成就。

第四十七章

不出戶，知天下；
不窺牖，見天道。
其出彌遠(yuǎn)，
其知彌少。
是以圣人不行而知。
不見而明，不為而成。

Chapter 47

Without leaving his door
He knows everything under heaven.
Without looking out of his window
He knows all the ways of heaven.
For the further one travels
The less one knows.
Therefore the Sage arrives without going,
Sees all without looking,
Does nothing, yet achieves everything.
