[口語]工資“翻番”英文怎么說

China is striving to increase the average Chinese wages by 15 percent annually in a bid to achieve a two-fold increase in pay by the end of 2015, the Ministry of Human Resource and Social Security (MHRSS) said according to a report in the Beijing Times Tuesday.

根據(jù)《京華時(shí)報(bào)》周二的報(bào)道，人力資源和社會(huì)保障部稱，中國(guó)將努力實(shí)現(xiàn)職工工資每年增長(zhǎng)15%，力爭(zhēng)在2015年底實(shí)現(xiàn)工資翻番。

這一目標(biāo)是為了緩解widening income gap between the wealthy and the poor（日益擴(kuò)大的貧富差距）。而且，新修訂的刑法將增加malicious arrears of wage crime（惡意欠薪罪），對(duì)wage arrears（拖欠工資）行為進(jìn)行處罰。

在上面的報(bào)道中，two-fold increase in pay指的就是工資“翻番”。翻番就是比原來多了一倍，也就是說2015年的工資會(huì)是目前工資的兩倍。英語的倍數(shù)表達(dá)中n-fold increase應(yīng)譯為“增加n-1倍（或增至n倍）”，例如：Productivity is increased three fold這句話既可以譯為“生產(chǎn)效率提高了兩倍”，也可以說成“生產(chǎn)效率是原來的三倍。”由此類推，增加了兩倍就是tripled，即增加到原來的三倍，也可以用three-fold increase來表示。增加到原來的四倍就是quadrupled。例如：The efficiency of the machines has been more than quadrupled．（這些機(jī)器的效率已提高了3倍多。）
