For me, Yi is in the same situation as RudyFernandez who left to go back to Spain -- why beuncomfortable living in a different country just tosit on the end of the bench while you could live astar overseas in your home country?

我覺得易建聯(lián)的情況跟當(dāng)初魯?shù)腺M(fèi)爾南德斯離開NBA是一樣的——為什么要為了坐在板凳上而在一個(gè)陌生國家里過著不舒服的生活呢?

Not everyone has the drive that some of true foreign stars do and that was the main problemwith Yi and a lot of foreign players.

Yeah, I never thought Yi was bad. His ceiling could have been double double person at his peak(10-10, not 20-10) but he just wasn't happy and just rather take his money and live rich as hellin China.

Rudy was better than Yi, probably could had been a starter but the US/NBA is not for everyone.

I think that proves my point even further -- Rudy who could have been a starter still choose toleave the States and not pursue playing in the NBA.

In similar fashion, it makes sense that Yi who could be a rotation gut at best would also leave.Different players, same mindset.

Most people don't seem to understand how much of a lifestyle change it is going across theglobe. Basketball players are human too.

Yi looks like the same player to me at least when he was on the Wizards where he had moresuccess than some of his other NBA stops.

A lot of talent but very inconsistent especially with his jumper. He also had trouble defensivelystaying in front of big men.

Perhaps Yi would be better suited in today's NBA because of the rise of small ball. By the way, Iwould be unexcited at the prospect of Yi being on the Wizards again.

也許易建聯(lián)更適合現(xiàn)今的NBA，因?yàn)樾∏虻尼绕?。順便說句，如果易建聯(lián)再來奇才的話，我不會(huì)有易可賽踢的感覺。

 

 

Yi could absolutely be a rotation player in the NBA if he really wanted to. The thing is there'sreally no reason for him to want to.

如果他真想的話，易建聯(lián)絕壁可以在NBA成為輪換球員。問題在于他沒有任何理由想去這么做。

He can be a cultural icon and the 4x reigning MVP in his home country while half-assing it OR hecould toil in relative obscurity and work hard competing for backup minutes on a possiblyirrelevant team in the NBA.

在他自己的國家，出一半力他就可以成為文化偶像式的人物和四屆MVP，在NBA拼了老命也就是在一支沒存在感的球隊(duì)為了替補(bǔ)出場(chǎng)時(shí)間而競(jìng)爭(zhēng)。

Seems like an easy ass choice to me.

Yi is comfortably putting up 20+ points against Durant, Melo, etc. Then how come he is notgood enough for the NBA?

Well, people don't realize, other than the very top guys (LBJ etc.) whether a player can start inthe NBA depends on much much more than just talent and skills. So many things have to goright for you.

Yi's US journey wasn't pleasant as he did not have a great transition into NBA culture. Socrappy things usually followed one another, and he was never able to dig himself out of that pit.

So be it. Right now, Yi is number 1 in China and continuing to dominate. Having to fight hisway back into the NBA isn't really that attractive to him.

所以接受現(xiàn)實(shí)吧?，F(xiàn)在易建聯(lián)是中國的王牌，繼續(xù)統(tǒng)治著賽場(chǎng)。讓他再努力返回NBA已經(jīng)對(duì)他不構(gòu)成吸引力了。
