奧巴馬將率團(tuán)赴沙特阿拉伯

U.S. President Barack Obama will lead a 30-memberdelegation to Riyadh on Tuesday to pay respectsfollowing last week's death of Saudi King Abdullah.

星期二，美國總統(tǒng)奧巴馬將率領(lǐng)一個由30人組成的代表團(tuán)前往利雅得，對沙特國王阿卜杜拉上周去世表示哀悼。

The group includes current officials and lawmakersas well as senior officials from previous presidentialadministrations, the White House said.

白宮說，代表團(tuán)成員包括現(xiàn)職官員、國會議員以及前任政府的高層官員。

 

 

Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes told reporters traveling with Mr. Obama that thedelegation will also meet with new King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

美國副國家安全顧問羅茲對隨行記者說，代表團(tuán)將會見沙特新國王薩勒曼。

"I'm sure that while we're there they'll touch on some of the leading issues where wecooperate very closely with Saudi Arabia," Rhodes said.

羅茲說，代表團(tuán)在沙特停留期間，雙方將討論一些有關(guān)美國與沙特緊密合作的問題。

He listed the U.S.-led military campaign targeting Islamic State militants in Syria, and thesituation in Yemen, where U.S. airstrikes have for years targeted fighters from al-Qaida in theArabian Peninsula.

他列舉了美國領(lǐng)導(dǎo)打擊敘利亞境內(nèi)伊斯蘭國激進(jìn)分子的行動以及也門局勢等問題，幾年來，美國一直對阿拉伯半島基地組織在也門的戰(zhàn)斗人員進(jìn)行空襲。

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, CIA Director John Brennan and the head of U.S. CentralCommand General Lloyd Austin are among the members of Mr. Obama's administration goingto Saudi Arabia. Former Secretaries of State James Baker and Condoleezza Rice will also join thepresident, along with former National Security Advisers Brent Snowcroft, Sandy Berger andStephen Hadley.

美國國務(wù)卿克里、中央情報局局長布倫南和美國中央指揮部司令奧斯汀將軍都是代表團(tuán)成員。前國務(wù)卿貝克和賴斯也將前往沙特阿拉伯。此外，代表團(tuán)成員還包括前國家安全事務(wù)顧問斯諾克羅夫特、伯杰和哈德利。

The White House said Mr. Obama is scheduled to be in Saudi Arabia for about four hours afterarriving from his three-day trip to India.

白宮說，奧巴馬計劃在沙特阿拉伯停留約四小時。
