大學(xué)生必做的十六件事情

導(dǎo)讀：美國(guó)的文化教育一向很看重學(xué)生的綜合素質(zhì)。四年大學(xué)生涯，大學(xué)生的身份不僅僅是學(xué)生，他們把大學(xué)視作從學(xué)生到成人的轉(zhuǎn)型期。他們的活動(dòng)已不僅僅限于青蔥校園內(nèi)，他們通過互聯(lián)網(wǎng)出售創(chuàng)意、從大一開始積累各種經(jīng)驗(yàn):自我心態(tài)的調(diào)整、處事能力的提升到與人相處的技巧。在生活中，既要當(dāng)好演員，也要當(dāng)好觀眾;在大學(xué)中，既要當(dāng)好學(xué)生，也要當(dāng)好初涉社會(huì)的預(yù)備人才。

Get out of the library. You can have a degree and a huge GPA and not be ready for the workplace. A student should plan that college is four years of experience rather than 120 credits.

第一，走出圖書館。就算有了學(xué)位和很高的GPA， 你也不見得就為工作做好了準(zhǔn)備。作為一名學(xué)生，應(yīng)該把大學(xué)生涯看作是四年人生經(jīng)驗(yàn)而非只是一堆學(xué)分來(lái)好好計(jì)劃。

Start a business in your 1)dorm room. It's cheap， Google and Yahoo are dying to buy your website， and it's better than washing dishes in the 2)cafeteria.

第二，從宿舍開始做生意。這很便宜，谷歌、雅虎都會(huì)爭(zhēng)先恐后地收購(gòu)你的網(wǎng)站，這比在大學(xué)食堂里洗盤子好多了。

Get involved on campus. When it comes to career succes emotional 3)intelligence—social skills to read and lead others—gets you farther than knowledge or job 4)competence.

第三，積極參加校園活動(dòng)。論及事業(yè)成功，情商——具有讀懂并領(lǐng)導(dǎo)別人的社交技能——比起知識(shí)或工作能力，對(duì)你更有幫助。

Play a sport. People who play sports earn more money than 5)couch potatoes， and women 6)executives who played sports 7)attribute much of their career success to their athletic experience. You don't need to be great at sport you just need to be part of a team.

第四，參加體育運(yùn)動(dòng)。玩運(yùn)動(dòng)的人要比整天看電視的人收入高。參加過體育運(yùn)動(dòng)的女性行政人員事業(yè)成功的原因很大程度上要?dú)w功于其運(yùn)動(dòng)經(jīng)歷。你無(wú)需在運(yùn)動(dòng)上表現(xiàn)出色，而只需參與其中。

Separate your expectations from those of your parents. Otherwise you wake up and realize you're not living your own life.

第五，別遵循父母的期待生活。否則你醒來(lái)后會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)你過的不是屬于自己的生活。

Try new things that you're not good at. Ditch the superstar mentality that if you don't reach the top， become president， get an A+， or get promoted to editor-in-chief， then the efforts were worthless. It's important to learn to enjoy things without getting 8)recognition.

第六，嘗試一些你并不擅長(zhǎng)的新事物。拋棄那些名韁利鎖:覺得如果不能成為第一名，當(dāng)不了學(xué)生會(huì)主席，拿不了A+的優(yōu)異成績(jī)，或晉升到總編的位置，那么一切努力都是無(wú)意義的。重要的是學(xué)著去享受那些無(wú)需他人贊賞肯定的事情。

Define success for yourself. Society defines success very narrowly. Rather than defining success as financial gain or 9)accolades， define it in terms of individual interests and personal happiness.

第七，自己定義成功。社會(huì)對(duì)成功的定義很狹隘。與其把成功定義為經(jīng)濟(jì)上的收獲或嘉獎(jiǎng)，不如將其定義為個(gè)人興趣和快樂所在。
