泰國(guó)政府宣布進(jìn)入緊急狀態(tài)

        Thailand's government declared a state of emergency last night after protesters demanding the resignation of Abhisit Vejjajiva, the prime minister, invaded the country's parliament compound and forced his deputy to flee by helicopter.

　　泰國(guó)政府昨晚宣布進(jìn)入緊急狀態(tài)，此前要求總理阿披實(shí)·維乍集瓦(Abhisit Vejjajiva)下臺(tái)的抗議者沖進(jìn)了議會(huì)大院，迫使其副手乘坐直升飛機(jī)逃離。

　　The state of emergency covers Bangkok and surrounding provinces. It outlaws gatherings of more than five people and grants the police and army enhanced powers to restrict travel and hold suspects without charge.

　　緊急狀態(tài)法涵蓋曼谷及周邊省份。該法規(guī)定，5人以上的集會(huì)屬于非法活動(dòng)，同時(shí)賦予警察和軍隊(duì)更大的權(quán)力，以限制旅行，并在不起訴的情況下扣押嫌疑人。

　　The move makes it easier for the government to use force to end the month-long protests.

　　Despite the declaration, hundreds of red-shirted demonstrators were streaming into the main protest encampment last night, at a key intersection in the heart of Bangkok's retail and hotel zone.

　　盡管泰國(guó)政府宣布進(jìn)入緊急狀態(tài)，但數(shù)百名“紅衫軍”昨晚仍匯集到位于曼谷零售和酒店區(qū)域中心一個(gè)關(guān)鍵十字路口的主要抗議營(yíng)地。

　　“No one is afraid, no one is going home,” said Sean Boonpracong, a spokesman for the protesters. “We will resist their actions. We have called people in from the provinces.”
