　Why not 和 Why don't 都表示“為什么不，為何不”，表示建議或責備，但結構不同：

Why not+動詞原形

Why don't +主語+謂語動詞 （為特殊疑問句 ）

Why not take a good rest in the shade? 是否應在樹蔭下好好休息一下呢？

Why not have a drink? 為什么不喝一杯呢？

Why don't you look it up in the dictionary? 你為什么不查一下字典呢？

Why not try again? 為什么不再試一下呢 ?

Why don't you try again?

Why not do like that? 為什么不那樣做呢 ?

Why don't you do like that?

Why not ask him? 為什么不問他呢 ?

Why don't you ask him?
