Last name: 表示“姓”，一般都用last name,
Surname : 姓氏，比較官方、正式的用法
Family name: 老外不太用

Traditionally 西方傳統(tǒng)中，
a child will take the father’s name，孩子要跟爸姓
a wife will take her husband’s name after marriage. 婚后，妻子要隨夫姓

西方有一些人，對孩子姓什么，又一個態(tài)度：anything goes, 隨便。

想跟爹媽一起姓？it’s also cool,
Want to smash the letters all together and create a completely new surname? 把爹媽姓氏的字母拆分、混合起來，變成一個新的姓？ Why not?

中國有些家庭，會組合姓氏，比如：爸爸姓孫，媽媽姓楊，孩子就叫做“ 孫楊+名字”
西方也有，爸爸姓Jones, 媽媽姓Smith, 那孩子就可以姓 Smith—Jones.
6. 在西方，孩子不跟爸爸姓，奇怪嗎？

8. 美國人怎樣稱呼Parents-in-laws? 不叫Dad, mom！
Just call them by their names. 直接叫名字！
It even be considered weird if you do. 如果你貿(mào)然喊你的公婆/岳父母 “dad, mom”,會很weird!
如果想叫，一定要提前問一句： May I call you dad/ mom?
9. 女權(quán)主義者，會主張孩子跟自己姓嗎？
Some feminists do, 有些會
Some feminists don’t. 有些不會
Some feminists don’t care. 有些不在乎
feminism is about choice.女權(quán)主義，其實是關(guān)于選擇權(quán)的。和孩子跟誰姓沒有直接必然的關(guān)系。
