給外國朋友或者客戶送禮物有哪些注意事項呢？

因為culture difference（文化差異），有時候送禮是一種offence（冒犯）。

什么時候可以送禮物呢？

1、Several types of gifts 禮物分類

①First meeting gift 見面禮

If you meet someone for the first time, and he or she give you a gift, it will make you feel awkward.

如果第一次見面就送別人禮物的話，會讓人覺得尷尬。

Are you going to buy my affection?

對方可能會臆測: 你是想討好我嗎？

②Wedding favors婚禮伴手禮 & Party favors派對禮物

This can be something small, such as a candle and candies.

都是一些小東西，像蠟燭啦，糖果啦之類的。

Candles are a go-to gift.

美國人好像很喜歡送蠟燭，蠟燭是送禮物的首選！

There is a big culture difference between Chinese weddings and western weddings.

關(guān)于結(jié)婚禮物，中國與西方有相當(dāng)大的差別。

Western wedding---a list of many things they want

然而在西方國家，新人在結(jié)婚之前，他們會把想要的東西列出來。

If someone buys one ,no one else can buy it again.

如果某樣?xùn)|西已經(jīng)被人先買了的話，其他人就要送其他的了。

2、When to give gifts？什么時候可以送禮物？

the main holidays like Christmas重大節(jié)日，比如圣誕節(jié)

the obvious times like birthdays 重要的日子，比如生日

when to someone’s home for a dinner party 去別人家吃飯參加派對

the time to welcome a new man 歡迎新人的加入

If a foreigner is joining your company or school, it’s nice to give them a welcoming gift.

如果有外國人加入公司或者新到一所學(xué)校，可以送小禮物以示友好。

3、When not to give gifts?什么時候不要送禮物？

on the first meeting 與人第一次見面的時候

It will be awkward unless you give them something not expensive.

最好不要送禮物；

要是很想表示友好的話，可以送一些不貴重的禮物，

比如Mary會送自己制作的小曲奇餅（cookies）

on the first date 第一次約會的時候

千萬不要送禮物！

It is old-fashioned to give chocolates or flowers.

送花兒、巧克力什么的已經(jīng)過時了！

They don’t give gifts on Thanksgiving day.在感恩節(jié)，他們是不送禮物的。

They just eat together and say thank you.
