又一周的隔離期過去了，

有很多人已經(jīng)復(fù)工。

*More and more people return to the office to resume work.

網(wǎng)易云音樂的小伙伴Richard留言給我們說，哎呀，我都出門上班4天了，你們兩個還在討論在家辦公。而且Ta還告訴我們，到公司的第一件事就是要用酒精洗手，還有帶新口罩。

所以呢，今天翩翩老師和 Mary就要來和大家一起聊一聊，復(fù)工這件大事。

1.To resume work： 復(fù)工

復(fù)工怎么說呢？

* 復(fù)工：

resume work

Go back to work

* 去公司復(fù)工：

Go back to the office to work

Resume the work at the office

非常實用的表達：

在未來某一天復(fù)工：

* I go back to work on + 未來的日子

I go back to work on Friday. 我周五復(fù)工

該在某天復(fù)工：

* I’m supposed to go back to work on + 日期.

I’m supposed to go back to work on Friday.

我應(yīng)該是周五復(fù)工（不確定）。

* I was supposed to go back to work on + 過去的日期.

I was supposed to go back to work on last Friday.

我本來是該上周五上班的。

* push back and push back: 往后推了又推

* I’m grateful for it. 我很感恩。（很多人對推遲上班是充滿感恩的，是不是你也是？）

2.What’s the general attitude of people returning to work?

大家對復(fù)工的態(tài)度是怎樣的？

How do you feel about it?

你感受如何？

對于employer（雇主）來說，要承擔更多的責(zé)任，因為要：

take certain measures 采取措施

* ensure employee’s safety保證員工的安全

*sanitizer/'sæn?,ta?z?/ 消毒劑

wait for any update 等待更新 通知

一席目前是要求大家在家等update（新的通知），現(xiàn)在大家都在家辦公，也很高效。

然后，節(jié)目中的笑場來了：

Mary想說：

as tired as I am of having such an unregulated schedule（雖然已經(jīng)受夠了目前這么不確定的時間表…），但是unregulated有點拗口，她說錯兩次，自己還嘟囔道： I actually know English.我真的懂英語的（可愛的美國女孩）。

* Here’s the thing：情況是

* not willing to go back to work ：不想去上班

* get everything back to normal ：希望一切都恢復(fù)正常

* We’re still pretty far away from normal ：我們離恢復(fù)正常還很遠。

* It’s not worth the risk ：不值得冒險

* too risky ：太危險了

* vaccine/væk?si?n/

* hand sanitizers /'sæn?,ta?z?/ ：消毒洗手液

* play it by ear隨機應(yīng)變

He went into the office for training to do online classes 到公司去做線上教育的培訓(xùn)。

It ended up not doing anything 結(jié)果什么都沒做

3.Is there a possibility to refuse going back into work?

可以拒絕去上班嗎？

If you’ve gone back/are going back already, did you volunteer to go or do you feel like you don’t have a choice?

你是自愿去上班的嗎？還是無可奈何？

*refuse going back into work：拒絕回去上班

*give back to society：回報社會

*Did you volunteer：你是自愿的嗎？

*You don’t have a choice：沒有別的選擇（無可奈何）

*We were required to volunteer：被要求去做志愿

*community service：社區(qū)服務(wù)

Mary的高中，想要畢業(yè)，必須做一些公益的社會實踐活動，好像這也是美國學(xué)校的一種主流文化哦。

但是，聽起來很不錯的“社區(qū)服務(wù)”，也會有 negative context（負面的含義），比如Mary的英國男朋友就會覺得：

Many health-care professionals are giving back to the community of Wuhan by volunteering to help out—less dramatically, many people are now volunteering to go back to work in the office.

health-care professional: 醫(yī)護醫(yī)療人員

像很多醫(yī)護人員自愿去支持武漢一樣，很多人也自愿，踏出門去，穿過一層層的風(fēng)險，堅守在自己的崗位上。
