英語早間課堂:教你一招說聚會(4)

今天我們繼續(xù)說聚會。這樣的聚會是在晚上舉行，通常大家都只喝一種含有酒精的飲料，會使人有點(diǎn)暈得飄飄然，聚會上喧嘩無比，參與者極度瘋狂。這是什么聚會呢?

我們先來聽下面的2個(gè)句子：

例句-1：Going to the beer bust this Friday? I hear it's only five dollars stag or drag.

例句-2：I've heard that the beer bust last week at Landy's house was splendid.

接招：在我們剛才聽到的2個(gè)例句中，都可以聽到同一個(gè)詞語：beer bust。它是美國的一個(gè)俚語，作為俚語它的意思是：以啤酒為主要飲料的啤酒狂歡會，啤酒歡宴會，啤酒晚會。其英文解釋是這樣的：a large, usually boisterous party, as for college students, club members, or soldiers, at which beer is the sole or principal beverage and is consumed in large quantities。

從其英文解釋中，我們來看一下這個(gè)beer bust(啤酒晚會)通常是那些人舉辦和參與呢?有college students(大學(xué)生)，有club members(俱樂部會員)，有soldiers(士兵)等。我們再來看看“啤酒”在這樣的晚會上占據(jù)著如何重要的地位。它是sole(唯一)或者是principle(最重要的)飲料，參與晚會的人會喝很多打啤酒。
