拋招1：The boys said they has smashed the windows just for the hell of it.

男孩子們說他們打破窗子只是為了好玩。

拋招2：Asked why he had beaten up a compete stranger, the young man replied he has done it just for the hell of it.

問那個年輕人而你什么打一個素不相識的人，他回答說就是為了尋開心。

接招：在以上2個例句中都用到了同一個詞語：just for the hell of it。這是一條副詞性短語，在句中作目的狀語。短語中的just是“就是，只是”的意思，起到加強語氣的作用。介詞for表示“原因”。短語the hell是“究竟”的意思。It 是指代句子中的事件。 Just for the hell of it連在一起意為：僅僅為了取樂，只是為了好玩(尋開心、瞎鬧)等等。

下面我們再通過3個例句來熟悉這個短語的意思。

1. We went swimming at midnight just for the hell of it.

我們深更半夜去游泳，只是為了好玩而已。

2. They stole the car just for the hell of it.
