2. Let us suppose that Mary hit John right between the eyes, what will he do? It's no doubt John wants to spend all his time with her and get to know about her better.我們假定John對(duì)Mary印象很深刻，John會(huì)如何呢?還用想嗎?John當(dāng)然是想花所有的時(shí)間進(jìn)一步了解她。

In this sentence, hit sb right between the eyes means "to have a strong affect on sb". 此句中hit sb right between the eyes意為對(duì)......印象深刻。也就是“沒齒難忘”的意思。

注解1：suppose [s??p?uz] 假設(shè), 假定，認(rèn)為，認(rèn)定

Eg. What makes you suppose (that) I'm against it? 你根據(jù)什麼認(rèn)為我反對(duì)這件事? (be against sth 發(fā)對(duì)、不贊成某事物)

It was widely supposed to have been lost during the war. 普遍認(rèn)為那東西在戰(zhàn)爭期間丟失了。(It is widely supposed to do sth. 普片認(rèn)為......)

Everyone supposes him poor, but he is really quite wealthy. 大家都以為他窮, 實(shí)際上他很闊。(suppose + 賓語+形容詞 認(rèn)為......如何 它實(shí)際上是省略了動(dòng)詞不定式中的to be 完整的為suppose him to be poor)

注解3：It's no doubt that +從句(從句是同位語從句，對(duì)前面的抽象性名詞作補(bǔ)充說明，這個(gè)抽象性名詞稱為同位詞。)

Eg. It's no doubt that we all have bad habits. 毫無疑問，我們都有不好的習(xí)慣。

It's no doubt that writing is his bounden duty. When stopped it, he suddenly became a sick man.毫無疑問，寫作是他的天職。一旦停止寫作，他立即成了病人。

There's no doubt that +從句 (從句是同位語從句，對(duì)前面的抽象性名詞作補(bǔ)充說明，這個(gè)抽象性名詞稱為同位詞。)

Eg. There's no doubt that it will help us to cure all sorts of illnesses. 毫無疑問它會(huì)幫助我們治愈各種疾病。

There's no doubt that he's the right person for the job. 毫無疑問，他是這份工作最合適的人選。

注解3：get to 逐漸 know about 了解

3. Mr. Monotone hit me right between the eyes with that shot, but I don't know about the other dozen people in the audience. 我不知道其余12位聽眾如何，但是“乏味先生”的結(jié)束語卻如當(dāng)頭棒喝，讓我瞬間醒悟。

注解1：the other dozen 其余12位

注解2：dozen [?d?z?n] n.(一)打，十二個(gè)audience [??:di?ns] n.聽眾，觀眾，讀者

例句：His speech won the applause of the audience.他的講話贏得了聽眾的掌聲。

He delighted the audience with his performance. 他用他的表演使觀眾喜悅。

The audience was no less than five thousand. 聽眾有五千人之多。(no less than 不下于;不少于)

注解3：此句中的with that shot中的shot是比喻的用法，這里是比喻非常有震撼力的言辭。
