2. Let us suppose that Mary hit John right between the eyes, what will he do? It's no doubt he wants to spend all his time with her and get to know about her better.
3. Mr. Monotone hit me right between the eyes with that shot,but I don't know about the other dozen people in the audience.
這三個(gè)句子中都有一個(gè)共同的短語是hit sb right between the eyes，毫無疑問我們的疑問就hit us right between the eyes(茅塞頓開了)。
下面我們來看一下剛才的三個(gè)句子:
1. In a flash the evil intent of the vice-president usurping power hit the president right between the eyes. 一剎那間，副總統(tǒng)篡權(quán)的罪惡意圖給總統(tǒng)當(dāng)頭一棒。
In this sentence, "hit sb right between the eyes" means "to give sb a big suprise". 這句話中hit sb right between the eyes意思是讓某人非常吃驚。這也就是“結(jié)舌瞪目”的意思。
