第一、掌握定語從句。The football team has a new play that they are keeping as an ace in the hole for the big game. 這個句子是含有一個定語從句的復(fù)合句。主句是the football team has a new play，從句是由that引導(dǎo)的they are keeping as an ace in the hole for the big game。這個句子中的先行詞是paly，它在定語從句中做keep的賓語，即：They are keeping the new play as an ace in the hole for the big game. 那么先行詞是物，在定語從句中又做賓語，我們就要選擇關(guān)系代詞。指代物的關(guān)系代詞有2個：which, that。由于先行詞play在本句中是作賓語，則只能用that，不能用which。其實，that在這個句子中是可以省略的。

第二、掌握用keep來表述“把...留作”“把...當做”的短語是keep...as。那么短語中的as有的語法專家是說是引詞，但是有的語法專家說是介詞。我們來看2個例句：Which animal would you like to keep as a pet?你想養(yǎng)什么動物做寵物?My hopes. Is there any help to keep it as my daily goal? 我對未來抱有希望。我把它作為每日的目標是否有幫助?

第三、理解介詞for是“用途”的意思。例如：It is a book for children. 這本書是兒童讀物。We got a new table for the dining room. 我們買了張新桌子用于飯廳的。
