1. 現(xiàn)在分詞作表語表示分詞主語所具有的特征和性質(zhì)時，主語多是物。

The game is very exciting.

這個比賽很令人激動。

The music is much pleasing to the ears.

這音樂很悅耳。

He was surprised at the news as the news was really very surprising .

聽到這個消息他很吃驚，因為這消息確實令人吃驚。

2. 過去分詞作表語表示主語所處的狀態(tài)，邏輯上成被動關系時，主語多是人。

He's gone .

他走了。

You are mistaken .

你錯了。

He was moved to tears by the film.

他被電影感動得流下了眼淚。

3. 分詞和動名詞都可以作表語，分詞作表語是對主語進行描述，而動名詞作表語說明主語的內(nèi)容。

My job is teaching .

我的工作是教書。

The news was surprising .

這消息令人吃驚。

The most important thing is giving the new generation a good education.

最重要的事情是給新一代良好的教育。
